When to cut yourself a break…

Workout: Run 3.5 miles / 35:15 minutes

Yesterday the bayou was so beautiful when I ran that I wanted to take some pictures today for you to see.

I love New Orleans.

Classes start tomorrow at mine and Mo’s school. If you are a teacher, you know that means late nights, early mornings and general anxiety because “OMG I COULDN’T FIND THE PERFECT BORDER FOR MY BULLETIN BOARD. THE YEAR IS RUINED ALREADY.”

Mo said he was probably going to skip working out all week because of the stress of back to school week (see kids, it’s not just you). I ended up skipping boot camp tonight because we were at school til almost 7 and I am going to skip running tomorrow morning so that we can go in early.

Sometimes we have to prioritize something over working out.

It sucks.

Side note: It’s interesting that I am willing to miss (or re-arrange) two workouts for school, but heaven forbid I take a week off after Muddy Buddy to rehab my ankle. It’s still a little tender from rolling it on the trail (6 weeks ago) and I have also noticed some stiffness in my Achilles in that foot. I do plan to take a few days off after Yam City and try to rest it.

When taking time off, I want to have a plan and some accountability in getting back into the swing of things. I already know when I will make up my two missed workouts and I am Mo’s accountability buddy for working out again starting this weekend.

In the copy room at school- not everyone knows we are married yet, so it’s fun to see peoples’ reactions when they find out. They are usually just impressed I got such a handsome man to commit to all this craziness.

When do you skip a workout? What do you do to get back on track?
