About Me
I’m 30, married, and have four Devon Rex cats.
I started running when I was 15 with my dad. My dad is awesome by the way. I ran cross-country and track in high school. Once I got to college I started running half marathons, but I picked up a little too much weight that first year.
I studied Latin at LSU, an incredibly useful degree, and I love Latin a lot. After college I joined Teach for America and taught for 5 years in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Hurricane Katrina hit one month after I started teaching. I picked up a little too much weight those first few years teaching.
I married the only guy who could tie with my dad for “greatest guy ever” and after a few years of being married we moved to New Orleans so that I could teach with a fast growing network of charter schools. I gained a little too much weight starting a school.
So, six years into teaching, three years into marriage and two years into cat parenting, I had gained a lot of weight. I was still running, but very slowly. I joined Weight Watchers online and have been with it for over a year. I have lost over 30 pounds, but I’d like to lose another 15-20 pounds. Over the last year I have gotten much more involved in fitness and healthy living. This blog is about my journey sweating for the best me there is. Enjoy!

This is great! I’m proud of you!
